Palo Gallery (New York) is delighted to announce its debut participation in EXPO Chicago 2025 with a solo presentation of new paintings by Auudi Dorsey, featuring works from the artist’s latest series, Gunslinger. Named after the Louisiana State Penitentiary boxing team, the artist was inspired by the story of New Orleans boxer Clifford Etienne, who started painting after his incarceration. This body of work parallels Etienne’s story and the shared histories of Black Southern men, including Dorsey’s experience growing up in New Orleans. Palo’s booth will be covered in a wood-like wallpaper to mimic the 1970s gyms Dorsey’s subjects would have fought in.
